Treasure Island WineFest
LODI VINTNERS BRING A TASTE OF LODI TO THE BAY AREA
LODI, CA (October 5, 2011) – Join Lodi Wine Country vintners for a unique wine festival with front row seats to San Francisco Fleet Week’s spectacular aerial shows. Lodi’s third annual Treasure Island WineFest will be held this Saturday, October 8th from 1pm to 5pm on historic Treasure Island.
This year’s festival boasts more than 200 award-winning Lodi wines from 48 distinguished wineries. Guests will sample artisan cheeses, gourmet olive oils, and various epicurean creations while watching the Blue Angels soar above the festival. The event also features live entertainment, a commemorative wine glass and free parking on Treasure Island.
“Lodi’s Treasure Island WineFest is sure to be a memorable event,” says Mark Chandler, Executive Director of the Lodi Winegrape Commission. “Where else can you watch Fleet Week aerial shows while tasting your way through 200 Lodi wines?”
Tickets to Saturday’s event are $55 in advance and $65 at the gate. They are available for purchase online (tiwinefest.com) until Thursday, October 6th at 11:59pm, via phone (209.365.0621) until Friday, October 7th at 4:59pm or at the gate on Saturday. Attendees must be 21 or over. Children and pets are not permitted. Tickets are non-refundable.
Lodi Wine Country is home to over 100,000 acres of winegrapes and produces approximately 20 percent of California’s total winegrape production—more than Napa and Sonoma combined! The region has experienced exponential growth since the early 1990s, with over 80 wineries garnering top awards at major wine competitions. Centrally located between Sacramento and the greater Bay Area, Lodi Wine Country is the idyllic wine tasting destination.
